Judges

Regulations:

  • All schools must provide two judges per ten project entries
  • Judges must be competent in at least one scientific discipline and be comfortable with the experimental process.
  • Judges may be teachers, administrators, parents and/or professionals in a scientific field.
  • Judges may not be students.
  • Judges with students and/or children participating in the event will not be permitted to evaluate the projects submitted by their own students and/or children.
  • Judges are required to judge during the following times, and to attend a training session.(Judges will be trained by head judges)

Training Session

  •  Wednesday, February 10th, 12 noon – 1pm (location TBA)

Judging Rounds

  •   2:30pm-6:00pm, Wedneday, March 2nd
  •   9:00am – 12noon, Thursday, March 3rd
  •   2:00pm – 4:00pm, Thursday, March 3rd (if needed)
  •   Submission of evaluation rubrics to head judge by 4:30pm.

Awards Meeting and Final Decisions

  • Judges are all required to meet at 9:00am on Friday morning to make final decisions regarding division and category winners.
  • Head judge will be present to oversee the process and present final awards during awards ceremony.

Judge Application and Selection

  • Judges are to submit their application no later than January 15th, 2011.
  • Judges will be selected by the GVRSF Chair and committee.
  • All judges will be contacted via e-mail upon selection and mailed a complete information package in January. Package will include a free t-shirt. (Please indicate size on registration form)
